Tehran: Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Sattar Hashemi, has announced Iran's willingness to share its cybersecurity expertise with Iraq. The announcement came after a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Communications Mustafa Jabar Sanad on Monday evening. During a joint press conference, Hashemi highlighted that Iran has been a target of numerous cyberattacks, especially during the recently imposed war, which has provided the country with valuable experience in cybersecurity.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting was part of Iran's broader strategy of 'technology diplomacy.' Hashemi emphasized that Iraq's ministerial visit to Iran was organized within this framework to foster stronger bilateral relations in the field of communications technology. The discussions also included coordination efforts for previous events, such as Hashemi's trip to Iraq last July, which was aimed at enhancing communication services for Arbaeen pilgrims.

Hashemi further pointed out the importance of cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, noting that Iran's experience in dealing with large-scale cyberattacks could be beneficial to Iraq. He underscored the necessity of collaboration in this critical area to bolster regional cybersecurity resilience and enhance mutual technological capabilities.
