Tehran: Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of Nigeria's Shia Muslims, has stated that the path and ideology of the assassinated leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, will continue despite efforts to weaken Iran. Zakzaky made these remarks in a message marking the 40th day since Ayatollah Khamenei's martyrdom due to an Israeli airstrike on his office in Tehran on February 28, the first day of the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zakzaky emphasized that the late leader was not merely an individual who could be eliminated through assassination, but represented a school of thought that persists in the hearts of Muslims and free people worldwide. The United States, he noted, faced a divine barrier and failed in its hopes of triggering the collapse of Iran's Islamic system.
Zakzaky pointed out that the past 40 days have demonstrated the true stature of Khamenei, highlighting that enemies had anticipated chaos, but instead observed increased unity and commitment among Iranians and the wider Muslim community. The appointment of Ayatollah Khamenei's son, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, as Iran's new leader, was described as another major setback for adversaries, with Zakzaky emphasizing that the successor would firmly continue the same path.
Zakzaky further warned that key waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb are not without guardians. He urged the US to acknowledge its failure and respect regional sovereignty to ensure safe maritime passage.
