Doha:Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that discussions between an Iranian delegation and Qatari mediators in Doha have yet to yield a definitive outcome regarding a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The consultations, described as a 'two-day plan,' are ongoing.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi mentioned that the success of the Doha consultations hinges on the United States' response to Iran's inquiries. He clarified that the Iranian delegation's visit to Doha, which included one of his aides, was solely for discussions with mediators, with no plans to meet or negotiate directly with the American side.
Araghchi emphasized Iran's commitment to resolving issues through diplomatic and peaceful means, expressing hope for rationality and diplomacy in response to US threats. He highlighted Iran's readiness for various scenarios, referencing recent directives from Commander-in-Chief Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei urging a swift and intense response to threats.
The foreign minister further noted that the Iranian Armed Forces have been assigned specific missions and, learning from past conflicts, are now significantly stronger. He stressed that Iran is prepared for both defense and diplomacy simultaneously.
