No Plan for Access to Iran’s Attacked Nuclear Facilities Without Final Deal, Says Deputy FM

Zurich: Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi has emphasized that access to nuclear facilities targeted in the recent US-Israeli attacks, as well as related nuclear materials, will be examined and decided solely within the framework of a final agreement and following practical steps by the other side.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi stated in a post on his X account on Wednesday that no meeting was held with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi in Switzerland, despite a request from the agency chief. 'There is no plan for access to the facilities that were attacked or to the nuclear materials,' he added.

Gharibabadi stressed that such issues would only be examined and decided within the framework of a final agreement and following practical steps by the other side, including the complete termination of sanctions and related commitments. He further criticized attempts to manipulate political outcomes through media narratives, adding, 'You cannot advance a policy of 'create momentum and establish facts' through media hype.'

Earlier, some media outlets, citing US officials and comments attributed to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, reported that an agreement had been reached to allow visits to Iranian nuclear facilities.
