Officials Emphasize Public Diplomacy Role in Promoting Iran’s Civilizational Identity

Tehran: Head of the Iranology Foundation Ali Akbar Salehi and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei have stressed the importance of using public diplomacy capacities to present Iran's culture, history, and identity accurately on the international stage.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Baqaei, who is also head of the Ministry's Center for Public Diplomacy and Media, and Salehi focused on Iran's scientific, cultural, and civilizational capabilities and their role in strengthening the country's public diplomacy.

During the meeting, Salehi highlighted the Iranology Foundation's position as a key national institution for studying and introducing Iran. He emphasized the need to utilize the country's scientific, research, and cultural capacities to provide a comprehensive and evidence-based image of Iranian civilization globally.

Baqaei underlined the importance of cooperation between scientific, cultural, and diplomatic institutions, describing the foundation's role in explaining elements of Iranian identity and enhancing cultural diplomacy as significant.

Both sides discussed expanding cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Center for Public Diplomacy and Media and the Iranology Foundation to support broader international understanding of Iran's heritage, history, and cultural achievements.

The officials also emphasized that stronger institutional collaboration can contribute to more effective cultural engagement worldwide.
