Pakistan Engages in Diplomatic Efforts Amid Iran-US Tensions

Islamabad:Pakistan has announced its active engagement with both Iran and the United States, emphasizing the need for diplomatic solutions amid rising tensions. Pakistani authorities have urged both nations to exercise restraint in their dealings.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Sajjad Haider, highlighted these diplomatic efforts during a press conference. The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan's commitment to resolving differences through dialogue and diplomacy.

Sajjad Haider addressed concerns regarding the impact of US-imposed unilateral sanctions on Iran-Pakistan relations. He assured that Pakistan's stance remains consistent, with Islamabad pledging to comply with applicable sanctions in line with its international commitments.

In response to queries about Iran's decision not to transfer nuclear material out of the country, Haider stated that such matters are for Iran and the US to resolve. He underscored Pakistan's role in supporting diplomacy, de-escalation, and mediation efforts.

The spokesperson refrained from commenting on the current situation at the Iran-Pakistan border, noting a lack of updates. This follows Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir's recent visit to Tehran, where he affirmed that the borders between the two countries have been reopened.
