Tehran: Pakistan's Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has characterized recent meetings with Iranian officials in Tehran as both positive and constructive. The discussions are seen as a significant diplomatic effort aimed at fostering lasting peace in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Naqvi, who was joined by Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir during the official visit to Iran, reported a productive meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the talks, they addressed pressing issues, including the Iran-US dispute and Middle Eastern tensions, while exploring potential paths forward. President Pezeshkian openly communicated Iran's perspectives and concerns, according to Naqvi.

Naqvi noted that substantial progress had been made throughout the discussions, describing the results as very positive. He expressed optimism that the momentum gained could lead to further advancements and enduring peace in the region.

In the course of the meeting, President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of the United States adhering to its commitments to Iran, in line with international law and Iran's rights. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also asserted Iran's dedication to implementing the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, urging Washington to honor its obligations under the agreement.
