Tehran: The Parliament has held a closed session in the presence of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, to review important regional and international issues, as well as the recent indirect talks between Iran and the United States, lawmaker Alireza Salimi said.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Salimi mentioned that the Parliament's closed session was attended by Abbas Araghchi and Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi. Earlier, on February 6, Araghchi had described the indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Muscat as a 'good start', noting that both sides intended to continue the talks.
He highlighted that both sides agreed on the necessity to continue the discussions, although the time and manner of the next round have not yet been decided. Araghchi conveyed that Iran's concerns and interests, including the rights of the Iranian people, were communicated effectively, and the views of the other side were also heard.
