Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged Muslim nations to adopt a unified approach in condemning the Israeli regime’s actions, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic stands firmly with Qatar against Israeli aggression. In a telephone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Pezeshkian denounced Israel’s assault on Qatar, pledging Iran’s full support for the Persian Gulf nation.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s commitment to stand alongside Qatar, ready to take necessary measures to support its close neighbor. He accused Israel of destabilizing the region under the guise of self-defense and urged Islamic countries to adopt a consistent stance to condemn such actions effectively.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Israel disregards international norms, acting with impunity due to American support. Sheikh Tamim echoed Pezeshkian’s concerns, criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his actions and stressing the need for a unified regional
stance against Israel.

Sheikh Tamim revealed that Hamas officials had been considering a US ceasefire proposal, but Israel attacked the meeting discussing it. He expressed hope for increased coordination among Muslim countries to halt Israel’s aggression.

The recent Israeli airstrikes targeted Hamas leaders in Doha during discussions on the US ceasefire proposal, resulting in the death of five Hamas members. In a previous statement, Pezeshkian condemned the Israeli strike as illegal and destructive to diplomatic efforts, urging international bodies to respond firmly to ensure lasting peace through ending occupation and aggression.
