Tehran: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Denis Sassou Nguesso on his re-election as president of the Republic of the Congo, emphasizing the expansion of friendly ties between the two countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian, in a message on Monday, expressed hope that bilateral relations would further develop during the new term of President Nguesso, particularly in political, economic, and cultural areas.

He also wished the president of the Republic of the Congo good health and success, and prosperity and well-being for the people of the Central African country.
