Tehran: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has indicated that potential paths toward an agreement with the United States will become accessible if Washington relinquishes its hegemonic attitude.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian emphasized on his X account that if the US administration abandons its pursuit of a hegemonic approach and respects the rights of the Iranian nation, pathways to reach an agreement will certainly emerge.
The president also expressed his support for the Iranian negotiating team participating in the Islamabad talks and extended his appreciation to the members of the delegation, particularly Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
The backdrop of these developments is a joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran on January 28, 2026, which led the Islamic Republic to launch retaliatory strikes against US and Israeli positions. Following 40 days of fighting, a ceasefire proposal brokered by Pakistan brought Iranian and US delegations to Islamabad for talks. Despite the negotiations not achieving a breakthrough, Iran insists that the door to diplomacy remains open.
