Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Rear Admiral Ali Ozamayi on his appointment as commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, stating that the force would continue to play a key role in protecting Iran's maritime borders and national interests.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed confidence in Ozamayi's experience and judgment, which he believes will enable the IRGC Navy to execute its duties with foresight and strength. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the country's maritime borders and interests at sea as crucial components of national interests and strategic power.

Pezeshkian highlighted that recent regional and international developments have underscored the significance of the waterways surrounding Iran, making the command of the IRGC Navy a particularly vital and sensitive role.

He also paid tribute to Ozamayi's predecessor, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, who was martyred in the US-Israeli attacks against Iran. Pezeshkian extended his wishes for Ozamayi's success in fulfilling his new responsibilities.
