Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has donated 50 billion rials for the release of prisoners in need. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the fundraising event is held annually during the Holy Month of Ramadan in Tehran and other cities, with the participation of officials and donors. This year, President Pezeshkian donated 50 billion rials for the release of prisoners convicted of unintentional crimes. Muslims fast from dawn to dusk during Ramadan and gather for prayers, charity, and communal meals to mark the blessed month.
