Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed condolences over the death of renowned miniature painter Mahmoud Farshchian, praising his unique artistry and global impact on Persian art.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a statement issued on Sunday, Pezeshkian said Farshchian’s unparalleled creativity and distinguished works had elevated Iran’s name on the world stage. He described the artist’s legacy as ‘a shining jewel in the history of the nation’s culture and art,’ reflecting love, faith, and the grandeur of Islamic-Iranian heritage and Shia history.

The president extended his sympathies to Farshchian’s family, the country’s art community, and admirers of Iranian culture worldwide, praying for divine mercy for the late master and patience for his family.

Farshchian passed away on Saturday at the age of 95 while hospitalized in the United States.
