Islamabad: President Masoud Pezeshkian has called the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US 'a historic document and a message from a powerful Iran.' In a post on his X account on Thursday, Pezeshkian released the signed MoU between Iran and the United States, adding, 'This is a historic document and a message from a powerful Iran: peace will be achieved through mutual respect.'

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian further emphasized, 'The Islamic Republic of Iran is always committed to global peace while upholding dignity, independence, progress, and regional cooperation.' Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump signed the document digitally and remotely in the early hours of Thursday, June 18, 2026.
