Baku:President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the parliament's approval of the defense minister nominee signifies a message of unity, solidarity, and strong support for the Iranian Armed Forces.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed this sentiment in a post on X, emphasizing that the decisive vote for Mehrdad Akhlaghi-Ketabchi is a strong message to the world.

During a session held earlier, Iranian lawmakers approved Akhlaghi-Ketabchi as the minister of defense with 237 votes in favor and 15 against, out of 277 members present.
