Plan to Forcibly Relocate Gaza Residents Criticized as Political Genocide by Iran

Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esma'eel Baqayi, in a recent statement, criticized the plan to forcibly relocate the people of Gaza from occupied Palestine, labeling it as a continuation of genocide through political means. Baqayi emphasized Iran's efforts to convene a meeting of the Organization of Islamic States to address this pressing issue.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqayi, while speaking in a televised interview, highlighted the necessity of holding a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The primary aim is to draw attention to the ongoing threat of genocide against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, which remains a significant concern for Islamic nations.

Baqayi noted that another critical agenda item would be to examine the alarming events unfolding in the West Bank. He reiterated that the central purpose of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation since its inception has been to address the Palestinian cause, focusing on the right to self-determination and liberation from occupation.

The spokesperson stressed the urgency for the organization to convene under the current circumstances, where Palestinians face an unprecedented crisis. He remarked on the resilience shown during the 17 months of what he termed as the "Zionist regime's genocide," now manifesting differently through political strategies.

He further articulated that the current plans involving the forced relocation of Gaza's people are a new form of genocide, employing political tactics. Iran, as a proactive member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian cause, has consistently advocated for such gatherings. Historical precedence shows that meetings at various levels of Islamic cooperation have often been initiated at Iran's behest.
