Riyadh: President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of the Republic of the Sudan First Lieutenant General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan yesterday received Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, in Port Sudan. During the meeting, El-Khereiji conveyed to Lt. Gen. Al-Burhan the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi envoy stressed the keenness of the Kingdom's leadership on the restoration of security and stability in Sudan, citing the primacy of calmness, wisdom, and self-restraint as requirements for this to happen. He also conveyed the Saudi leadership's keenness to see peace negotiations resumed and positive flexibility and response to humanitarian initiatives demonstrated. El-Khereiji also affirmed to Lt. Gen. Al-Burhan the Kingdom's welcome and support for all UN and international efforts aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire and for humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people, the combination of which would push the parties involved towards completing what was reached in the two negotiation rounds held in Jeddah.
