Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has assured visiting Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilyov that Iran is ready to eliminate any barriers hindering the execution of strategic agreements between Tehran and Moscow.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Pezeshkian expressed the importance of swift progress in joint projects, underscoring the political will at the presidential level of both nations. He highlighted the necessity for agreements to move swiftly from discussions to implementation, stressing the formation of specialized working groups to ensure coordinated daily follow-up.

President Pezeshkian pointed to the expansive potential for cooperation in areas such as energy, oil, gas, petrochemicals, and trade of essential goods, as well as the development of transit corridors. He emphasized that Iran and Russia are strategic partners and that project implementation should reflect their capacities and political resolve.

He further noted that enhancing ties with Russia has been a priority since the era of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and remains so under the current leadership. President Pezeshkian also touched on broader geopolitical issues, advocating for cooperation among independent states to counter unilateralism and sanctions, aiming for a more equitable international order.

Moreover, the Iranian President expressed gratitude to Russia for sending a high-level delegation to the funeral of the martyred Leader, acknowledging the supportive stance of the Russian government and President Putin.

In response, Minister Tsivilyov relayed greetings from President Putin and detailed his discussions with Iranian officials. He affirmed Russia's commitment to achieving significant outcomes from joint cooperation, commending Iran's independent stance against external pressures. Tsivilyov announced the establishment of specialized working groups for each joint project, reinforcing Moscow's dedication to realizing concrete results.
