Jakarta:President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of unity among Iranians to foster a stronger nation in various fields, including science, society, and humanitarian efforts.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian delivered his message during the Smile of the Homeland event, held in celebration of National Children's Week. He used a familiar childhood parable to illustrate the strength found in unity.
Pezeshkian recounted a story in which a father, nearing the end of his life, taught his children about solidarity. He demonstrated that while a single stick is easily broken, a bundle of sticks is unbreakable. This story was used to convey the power of coming together.
He encouraged Iranians to befriend, support, and collaborate with one another to build a resilient nation capable of advancement in all areas. Pezeshkian noted that cooperation should also focus on scientific progress, service, and humanity.
Reflecting on the childhood story, Pezeshkian reiterated that unity fosters strength, while discord allows adversaries to exploit weaknesses. He called for solidarity and determination to deter potential threats against Iran.
The event also featured a presentation to Pezeshkian, where two children expressed gratitude by giving him a plaque in recognition of his contributions.
