Tehran: Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through central London on Saturday, defying police warnings and government pressure as they protested against Israel’s war in Gaza. Crowds gathered in Trafalgar Square carrying placards and banners denouncing Israeli actions against Palestinians. Many signs read: ‘I Oppose Genocide; I Support Palestine Action.’

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the demonstration was the latest in a series of protests in Britain over the war in Gaza. Police stated that six people were arrested on suspicion of supporting what it described as a ‘proscribed organization,’ a reference to Palestine Action.

Ahead of the rally, London’s Metropolitan Police had warned organizers that such gatherings risked heightening ‘social tensions’ and urged them to cancel.
