Moscow:Iranian ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has announced that consultations between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue on the sidelines of the upcoming Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit in Moscow. The discussions are part of intensified diplomatic engagements between Tehran and Moscow.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Jalali assessed recent meetings positively, highlighting the active diplomacy between senior officials from both countries. He described these engagements as indicative of their strong determination to influence a new international order. Intensive talks have taken place between foreign ministers in Tehran, and strategic negotiations occurred in Dushanbe between the first vice president and prime minister during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, with continued consultations planned between the presidents in Moscow.
Jalali noted that this diplomatic momentum is expected to facilitate the emergence of a multipolar world order. Russian officials have confirmed preparations for the eighth GECF summit in Moscow, set for October 27, which will include the participation of presidents and senior officials from member countries, including Iran. Preparatory meetings for senior officials and energy ministers are scheduled for October 25-26 ahead of the leaders' gathering.
