Iran Urges UN Action Against US and Israeli Military Threats

New York:Iran's Ambassador and Chargé d'Affaires to the United Nations, Gholamhossein Darzi, has issued a warning to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council regarding threats from the United States and Israel of further aggression towards Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Darzi sent a letter on Monday urging immediate action against these threats, highlighting the potential for further violations of international law and risks to peace and security both regionally and internationally. The letter specifically referenced recent statements by the U.S. President about the possible use of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast against Iran, as well as comments from Israel's Minister of War, Israel Katz, about targeting Iran's energy infrastructure.

The ambassador's letter pointed to a history of aggression dating back to U.S.-Israeli attacks in June 2025 and February 2026, which included significant bombings and threats of new offensives. He warned that these actions constitute grave breaches of international law and could lead to severe humanitarian and environmental consequences. Iran has called on the UN to demand a cessation of these threats and to hold the United States and Israel accountable for their actions.
