Qatari and Kuwaiti Foreign Ministers Urge Dialogue to Ensure Strait of Hormuz Navigation Freedom

Doha: The Qatari and Kuwaiti foreign ministers have emphasized the importance of dialogue among all parties to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. A recent telephone conversation between Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, focused on bilateral cooperation and regional developments.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the discussion highlighted the diplomatic efforts and joint coordination needed to de-escalate tensions and bolster security and stability in the region. The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underscored the necessity of adhering to dialogue and diplomacy, as agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

He reiterated Qatar's full support for initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement for sustainable peace in the region, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regional security and preserving the achievements made thus far.
