Russia Condemns Israeli Plan for Complete Occupation of Gaza City

Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement condemning the Israeli regime’s plan for the complete occupation of Gaza City.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry denounced Israel’s actions, stating that such moves would exacerbate the already dire situation in the region. The escalation of attacks by the Israeli regime, coupled with plans for full occupation and forced displacement of Palestinian residents, could lead to a scenario where no civilian remains in Gaza, as all would be subjected to forced expulsion.

Moscow emphasized its belief in a two-state solution as per international law, advocating for an independent Palestinian state coexisting peacefully with Israel. The statement reiterated Russia’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and unimpeded access to humanitarian aid.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also warned that such plans, which have been met with global condemnation, could have negative consequences for the Middle East and undermine efforts to reduce regional tensions.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had previously announced that his security cabinet approved the plan for the complete occupation of Gaza during a meeting on August 7. In contrast, Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition in Israel, described the plan as disastrous.

Netanyahu’s plan has faced backlash internationally and within Israel, including from military and security officials.
