Second International Conference on Iranian-Islamic Civilization Seeks Scholarly Articles on Women’s Role

Vienna: Iran's Cultural Center in Austria has issued an official call for papers for the Second International Conference on Iranian-Islamic Civilization, focusing on 'Women's Agency in Iranian Civilization.' The event is scheduled for January 31, 2027, and will be held in a hybrid format with sessions in Vienna, Tehran, and online. Scholars, researchers, and postgraduate students from around the world are invited to submit their work.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary perspective on the contributions of women to Iranian civilization. The themes will cover various aspects, including governance, cultural memory, science, health, and spirituality. This second edition builds on the success of the first conference held in February 2026 in Vienna, which attracted university professors, Iranologists, and researchers from different countries.

The inaugural conference explored significant themes such as cultural identity, Persian language and literature, heritage studies, philosophy, arts, medicine, science, spirituality, and the future of Iranology. The upcoming conference seeks to continue this exploration with a specific focus on women's roles, offering a platform for discussing and documenting their impact on Iranian civilization.
