Iranian Arbaeen Pilgrims Enter Iraq Through Chazabeh Border Crossing

Chazabeh: The Chazabeh border terminal facilitated the passage of over 233,000 Iranian and foreign pilgrims and nationals during the Arbaeen pilgrimage between July 18 and 30, 2026. Located in Khuzestan Province, Chazabeh serves as one of the key crossing points between Iran and Iraq, annually accommodating large numbers of Arbaeen pilgrims. The terminal lies roughly 142 kilometers from Ahvaz via the shortest route.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Chazabeh border crossing plays a crucial role in managing the flow of pilgrims during the Arbaeen period. This annual event draws significant numbers of participants, making the efficiency of border crossings like Chazabeh essential for the smooth transit of individuals undertaking the pilgrimage.
