Minab:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Sunday he received a letter from Fatemeh-Zahra Sheikh-Abadi, a surviving student of the Shajareh Tayyebah School in Minab, which suffered a deadly missile attack by the United States in late February.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi shared the text of the letter in an Instagram message. In the letter, Fatemeh-Zahra remembers her friends and classmates—Niayesh, Sonaz, Baran, and Zeinab—who were killed in the attack on February 28. She expressed her desire to keep their memory alive and questioned why the United Nations has not acted against the tragedy or supported children's rights. She also urged the Iranian public to ensure her friends are not forgotten.
Araghchi emphasized that receiving the letter is a responsibility for him and his colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He stated their duty extends beyond sympathy for the martyred children of Minab to recording the truth, pursuing legal and international actions, and holding accountable those responsible for the attack.
The foreign minister highlighted the importance of remembering the children of Minab and Lamerd not just in memories but also in the pursuit of justice. He committed to ensuring Fatemeh-Zahra's voice and the story of the children of Minab are heard internationally, stressing the need for accountability for the catastrophe.
The attack on Minab Elementary School marked the first day of US military aggression against Iran, resulting in the deaths of 168 people, including students, sports players, school board members, teachers, and parents.
