Talks with US Aim for Results, Authorized by Leader: Pezeshkian

Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian says talks with the United States are being carried out with full coordination and authorization from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stressing that Tehran is seeking concrete outcomes rather than dialogue for its own sake.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Pezeshkian, speaking to a group of clerics in Tehran, stated that the government is seriously pursuing results and hopes the talks will lead to tangible progress in resolving outstanding issues. He emphasized that the Leader has consistently supported the administration's programs and decisions, helping steer cooperation among state institutions toward consensus.

The president highlighted improved relations with neighboring and Islamic countries, citing their support for Iran during recent regional tensions, and affirmed that this diplomatic track will continue alongside result-oriented negotiations.

President Pezeshkian also outlined his administration's efforts over the past 18 months to reform structures, improve economic indicators, expand ties with neighbors and Islamic countries, and address social challenges through education, cultural development, and tolerance. He described healing social divides as an unavoidable necessity and called on clerics to play a key role in rebuilding trust and cohesion.

Additionally, the president mentioned that authorities, in coordination with the Judiciary, are pursuing the release of detainees with minor roles in recent unrest while ensuring legal action against unlawful acts. He emphasized self-criticism by officials and warned against coercive approaches to social issues.

On the economic front, President Pezeshkian acknowledged difficult but necessary decisions on subsidies, currency rents, bank restructuring, and budget discipline to curb corruption and protect lower-income groups.
