Tehran Raises Concerns Over Doha Summit Communiqu© on Israeli Aggression

Doha: The Foreign Ministry of Iran has expressed its reservations regarding certain issues included in the final communiqu© of the recent emergency Arab-Islamic summit held in Doha. The summit addressed Israel’s military aggression against Qatar and its ongoing war on Gaza.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday night, just hours after the summit concluded in Qatar’s capital. The statement clarified Iran’s position on various topics in the communiqu©, urging the Secretariat to recognize Iran’s dissociation from contentious aspects, including the brutal Israeli actions against Palestinians and references to the ‘two-state solution’ or recognition of ‘the Zionist regime.’

The ministry’s statement reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and condemned the brutal crimes committed by Israel. It highlighted Iran’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that this commitment will not waver under any circumstances.

Iran expressed specific reservations about the communiqu©’s references to the ‘two-state solution,’ arguing that it does not resolve the Palestinian issue. Instead, Iran proposed the creation of a single democratic state through a referendum involving all Palestinians. Iran also reiterated that joining the communiqu© should not imply recognition of the Israeli regime.

The statement further emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and liberation from foreign occupation, urging international support for this cause. Iran also acknowledged Qatar and Egypt’s mediation efforts but criticized the US for perpetuating Israeli aggression, stating that the US cannot be considered an impartial party in the conflict.

Iran requested that its reservations be recorded in the final communiqu© of the summit, underscoring the need for a comprehensive approach that considers the interests of all Palestinians.
