Tehran: The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced plans to hold a regional meeting in Tehran for dialogue and exchange of views regarding developments related to Afghanistan. Esmaeil Baqaei informed reporters about Iran’s ongoing consultations with neighboring countries, including Pakistan and Afghanistan, aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the region.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran places significant importance on security and stability in its neighborhood and is committed to reducing tensions among regional countries and promoting mutual understanding. He characterized the upcoming meeting as a result of consultations at various levels with neighboring states and other regional parties, expressing hope that the initiative will effectively foster convergence and ease tensions.
Baqaei further mentioned that the regional meeting will be conducted in the coming week in Tehran, organized by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event will see participation from special representatives on Afghan affairs from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Russia.
