President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today, Monday, at Baghdad Palace, Adnan Al-Juhaishi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances. The President stressed, during the meeting, the support of the Presidency of the Republic and its backing for all steps and treatments aim to reach a healthy society free from this scourge, by combating it in security terms, rehabilitating drug users and addicts, as well as through legislation, pointing out in this regard the need to increase regional and international coordination and cooperation in order to control borders and prevent its transfer, and dismantle its trafficking networks. For his part, MP Adnan Al-Juhaishi reviewed the efforts and endeavors of the Narcotics Committee with the relevant executive authorities, to limit the spread of the scourge of drugs and their dangers, as well as future plans to enhance those efforts. He also appreciated the support and interest of the President of the Republic and his support for ways to confront the phenomenon of drugs. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
