Zahedan: Two police officers have been killed in a terrorist attack on their car along the Khash-Zahedan route in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeast Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, provincial police reported that terrorists opened fire on a police vehicle from Sib and Suran town on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of two officers and injuring another.

Preliminary reports indicate that the attack was carried out by unidentified armed assailants. Shortly after the incident, police launched operations to identify those responsible.
