UAE’s Involvement in US Aggression Against Iran Acknowledged by US Document: Deputy FM

Tehran: The deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs has highlighted the United Arab Emirates' involvement in the United States' military actions against Iran, following the release of a US government document. This document is seen as an official acknowledgment of the UAE's active participation in these aggressive operations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kazem Gharibabadi, the deputy foreign minister, posted on X stating that the US Department of Commerce had issued a document that eased export control regulations and elevated the UAE's export status. This change was made in recognition of the UAE's support for military actions against Iran. Gharibabadi described the decision as an official admission by Washington and a disgraceful document for Abu Dhabi, attributing direct international responsibility and potential legal consequences to the UAE. He insisted that the UAE must be held accountable for its actions.

Previously, the US Department of Commerce announced the UAE's upgraded status under US export rules. This upgrade removed the UAE from two restricted country groups, allowing it to receive license-free exports of controlled military items, certain satellites and spacecraft, and dual-use goods used in various sectors, including oil and gas production, desalination, and civil nuclear power. Additionally, recent reports have surfaced indicating that the UAE was significantly more involved in the US-Israeli conflict against Iran than previously acknowledged, having conducted numerous airstrikes on Iranian territory since the conflict began.
