Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the importance of national unity and social cohesion, warning that any attempt to create division within the country ultimately benefits Iran's adversaries.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Pezeshkian spoke on Wednesday evening during a ceremony on the eve of Ashura at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini near Tehran. He stated that anyone seeking to disrupt national solidarity for any reason is effectively playing into the hands of Iran's enemies. The president highlighted that division places society in a vulnerable position and referred to repeated messages from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei. Pezeshkian emphasized that unity and cohesion remain fundamental principles that must be preserved by all sectors of society.Pezeshkian further elaborated that any message, statement, or action that damages unity and solidarity benefits the enemy, even if the criticism being expressed is valid. He called fo r careful consideration of how political and social disagreements are addressed. Highlighting regional developments, the president noted growing cooperation among Islamic countries. He referred to his recent visit to Pakistan, where both officials and citizens expressed strong support for Iran and a desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Pezeshkian added that Iraq, Lebanon, and other nations were also prepared to expand collaboration.The president mentioned that Iran's long-term vision, guided by the country's leadership and supported by academics, entrepreneurs, producers, and investors, extends beyond national borders and aims to enhance the standing of both Iran and neighboring Muslim countries. He also pointed out that the Israeli regime, the United States, and other opponents have been attempting to weaken Iran since the beginning of his administration. Pezeshkian cited the assassination of former Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran on his inaugural day and other regional developments as examples of ongoing challenges.Despite these pressures, Pezeshkian praised Iran's Armed Forces and the public for their resilience, asserting that national unity and strong leadership have enabled the country to maintain its position in the region.
