US Accused of Prioritizing Power and Profits Over Peace in Conflict With Iran

Tehran:Robert Fantina, an American journalist, has criticized the U.S. administration for prioritizing power and profits over peace in its conflict with Iran. Fantina argues that the military actions by Washington violate international law, emphasizing that diplomacy is the only realistic approach to resolving the ongoing conflict.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Fantina expressed his disapproval of U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration's stance on Iran. He questioned the justifications provided by Washington for its military actions and urged the international community to hold the United States accountable.

Fantina highlighted the U.S. government's lack of interest in peace, accusing it of pursuing a dual agenda of power and profits. He criticized U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio for being unqualified and compared current U.S. aggression against Iran to historical conflicts. He argued that the reasons given by Trump and his administration for the war against Iran, such as preventing the development of nuclear weapons, lack credibility.

Further, Fantina accused Trump of exhibiting hostility towards Iran's history and civilization through his statements and threats. He claimed that the U.S. has consistently portrayed other countries and ideologies as enemies to justify its policies, using Iran as the latest target.

Fantina also pointed out the stark contrast between the histories of Iran and the United States, criticizing the concentration of power among wealthy elites in America. He condemned the attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure by the U.S. military, labeling them as violations of international law and crimes against humanity.

He called for other nations to leverage their economic and diplomatic power to pressure Washington. This includes reducing trade with the U.S., severing military ties, and expanding economic relations with Iran. Fantina emphasized that these measures could help to end U.S. violations against Iran.

Finally, Fantina expressed skepticism about Trump's approach to ending the conflict, accusing him of underestimating Iran's resilience. He criticized Trump's unrealistic assumptions about Iran's response to military pressure and highlighted that diplomacy, rather than military force, is essential for resolving the conflict. Fantina suggested that the upcoming U.S. mid-term elections might bring new congressional members who would push for diplomatic efforts to end the unpopular war.
