Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced that its Aerospace Force recently targeted facilities at the Al-Azraq airbase in Jordan, which are utilized for the maintenance, preparation, and deployment of US F-35, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC revealed in a statement issued early Wednesday that the assault was executed using both solid- and liquid-fueled ballistic missiles. The IRGC stated that this military action was a direct response to US operations involving attacks on Iranian oil tankers and commercial vessels.

The IRGC further detailed that the facilities, including shelters for fighter aircraft, sustained substantial damage. They also noted that their forces in the Strait of Hormuz continue to exert pressure on US forces, emphasizing their commitment to ongoing operations until the US halts its aggressive actions.

In a related development, the IRGC issued another statement shortly after, indicating that its Aerospace Force had also targeted two US Navy guided-missile destroyers, identified as DDG-119 and DDG-53. These destroyers, outfitted with cruise missiles and Aegis combat systems, were reportedly struck by ballistic missiles in the same retaliatory operation. The IRGC claimed that the attacks resulted in significant damage to both warships.

The IRGC has issued a stern warning to the United States, cautioning against further miscalculations. They reiterated that Iran's Armed Forces remain resolute in their determination to respond to US military actions.
