Moscow:Iran's ambassador to Russia has emphasized that the United States' use of force against Iran will be ineffective and only complicate regional matters further.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kazem Jalali made these remarks in Moscow during a conference involving the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, focusing on security issues in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
Jalali criticized the US for misunderstanding the Iranian people, noting that over 33 million Iranians have formally registered to defend their country and are ready to confront any new acts of aggression. He attributed the current tensions in West Asia, including the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf, and Bab al-Mandeb, to aggressive actions by the US and Israel and a naval blockade on Iran.
The ambassador stressed that negotiation is the only viable path to peace in the region. He commended Russia and China for their supportive positions on Iran at the UN Security Council, viewing these stances as evidence of their strong relations with Iran and opposition to US unilateralism.
Jalali reiterated Iran's commitment to regional security through cooperation among local countries, without foreign interference. He pointed to conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and the war in Ukraine as examples of how Western involvement threatens regional stability.
