Vice President Discusses Strengthening Iran-Tajikistan Relations


Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref stated that Iran and Tajikistan are two neighboring and brotherly countries during a meeting with Tajik Energy and Water Resources Minister Daler Juma in Tehran. Aref emphasized the deep cultural and civilizational ties between the two nations, referring to each as a second home for the other.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref highlighted the lack of obstacles in expanding bilateral relations, pointing out the complementarity of the two economies. He praised the ongoing efforts of both countries’ authorities to strengthen ties and underscored the importance of implementing agreements reached during the regular meetings of the joint commission.

Aref stressed the significance of enhancing connections between the private sectors of Iran and Tajikistan, particularly in fields such as economy, trade, industry, technical and engineering services, tourism, and science and education. The Tajik minister expressed gratitude for the hospitality received in
Shiraz and acknowledged Iran’s strategic importance in Tajikistan’s foreign policy.

The meeting also covered the positive trajectory of trade exchanges between the two countries, with the Tajik minister noting successful agreements made during the Joint Cooperation Commission meeting. An invitation from the Prime Minister of Tajikistan to the First Vice President was extended, with hopes that the visit would further solidify the friendly relations between Iran and Tajikistan.
