VP Aref Calls for Full Immunity in Cybersecurity, Scientific Progress

Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref has emphasized that Iran must urgently pursue full cybersecurity immunity, alongside scientific and technological progress, to achieve a leading position in the region and strengthen its defense capabilities.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref highlighted during a meeting on Monday that the goal of achieving first place in the region in the field of science and technology development is outlined in the development vision document. He noted that although successes have been achieved in this regard, not all goals have yet been realized.

He stressed the importance of prioritizing the development of modern technologies in both the government and private sectors. Aref pointed out that this focus is particularly crucial over the past two years to realize the vision document and attain a leading position in the region, as well as to become globally influential in science and technology.

Referring to the country's advances since the 12-day war, Aref stated, "These successes are the result of the efforts of our young, knowledgeable, and motivated elites and scientists."

Aref described the Zionist regime as an "illegitimate entity" in the region, emphasizing that the situation will not be resolved with an agreement or a ceasefire. He advocated for serious pursuit of scientific and technological progress to enhance Iran's defense capabilities alongside diplomatic efforts.

Reiterating the importance of complete immunity in cybersecurity, Aref noted, "Serious measures must be taken in this area. Iran's position on cybersecurity is defensive; however, we must also be prepared to strike the enemy."
