Agriculture Minister: Strategic Reserves Up Since War Began

Tehran: Agricultural Jihad Minister Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh has confirmed that the country's strategic reserves have not only held steady but have actually expanded during the war. There are no issues in the area of food security, Nouri Ghezeljeh said addressing the Parliament's open session on Tuesday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Nouri Ghezeljeh provided a brief report on the status of production and food security over the past 14 and a half months. During this period, the country faced major challenges in the area of food security, including two complex wars, two periods of naval blockade, and the activation of the snapback mechanism.

Under the guidance of the martyred Leader, as well as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and with the excellent and unprecedented cooperation among the branches of government, there are no significant issues in food security, he stressed. Nouri Ghezeljeh highlighted that while in other countries there were instances of looting of stores under such conditions, the government's management, the people's presence, and economic resilience have astonished the enemies of the Iranian nation. As a result, no shortages are seen in the market today, he stated.
