Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry has reiterated its commitment to maintaining close coordination with the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), following the appointment of Mohsen Rezaei as the Council's new secretary and representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi extended his congratulations to Rezaei in a message delivered on Monday. Araghchi highlighted Rezaei's extensive experience in defense, security, and management, deeming it pertinent to his new responsibilities. The foreign minister emphasized that Rezaei's appointment as the top security official underscores the confidence in his ability to handle complex strategic issues that the country faces.

Araghchi noted the significance of Rezaei's experience, especially under the current high-risk conditions and a rapidly changing environment, considering it an invaluable asset for the role. He further emphasized the crucial nature of cooperation between Iran's diplomatic and security institutions.

'The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as in the past, within the framework of the Islamic establishment's overall policies and in close coordination with the Supreme National Security Council, will use all diplomatic capacities of the country to advance national interests, strengthen the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and ensure and consolidate the country's sustainable security,' Araghchi stated.

He concluded his message by wishing Rezaei success in his new role, expressing hope for effective service to the Iranian people and the protection of the country's national interests.
