Aref Warns of Enemies’ Strategy to Destabilize Iran Through Economic and Social Pressures

Tehran: Iranian Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref has asserted that external adversaries are seeking to weaken Iran by exploiting economic challenges and social divisions. During a meeting with media representatives on Monday, Aref highlighted that following recent military setbacks suffered by these adversaries, their new strategy involves undermining national unity through economic pressure and societal fragmentation.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing national resilience in response to these threats. He pointed out the crucial role of the media in countering psychological warfare and ensuring that the 'first narrative' is effectively communicated. Aref also addressed the issue of rising prices, acknowledging it as a current reality but cautioning against allowing it to trigger social instability.

The vice president outlined the necessity of reforming economic policies, such as adjustments to subsidies and gasoline prices, advocating for a gradual implementation process guided by expert analysis and effective public communication. This approach aims to prevent exacerbating economic pressure on citizens.

Aref concluded by affirming the government's preparedness for challenging circumstances, including potential conflicts. He outlined the administration's priorities for the next two years, which focus on maintaining market stability, safeguarding citizens' livelihoods, and bolstering national resilience.
