Tehran: Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi has firmly dismissed recent claims made by the United States regarding the control and security of the Strait of Hormuz, asserting Iran's dominance over the critical waterway.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, General Shekarchi criticized the assertions made by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) commander, which included the escort of one billion barrels of oil out of the Strait over the past two months. He labeled these claims as 'false' and 'ridiculous,' suggesting they were part of a psychological operation rather than a depiction of the actual situation.

General Shekarchi argued that such statements are aimed at uplifting the morale of what he described as the 'exhausted and worn-out' personnel of the 'terrorist' US military in the region. He further suggested that these remarks were intended to justify the substantial financial and human costs incurred by Washington in maintaining its presence there.

The Iranian commander emphasized that these claims would not alter the reality of the US military's eventual expulsion from the region, reiterating that the 'aggressor' forces would not succeed in their objectives.

In response to the statements made by CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper, who claimed that US forces had ensured the safe transport of over one billion barrels of oil through the Strait and cleared primary transit lanes of mines, General Shekarchi maintained that the initiative and control of this strategic waterway remain with Iran's powerful Armed Forces.
