Mashhad:Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei sent a message to the 33rd National Prayer Conference, emphasizing the critical role of prayer in forming an Islamic society. The conference began on Thursday near the holy shrine of Imam Reza.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ayatollah Khamenei's message highlighted the importance of promoting prayer, urging families, educators, intellectuals, and cultural institutions to actively contribute to this effort. He noted that the National Prayer Conference has been a key initiative since the early 1990s, facilitated by Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Qara'ati.
Ayatollah Khamenei remarked on the profound significance of prayer as detailed in divine revelations and teachings of Islamic leaders. He described prayer as a divine blessing that strengthens spiritual connections and supports individuals in overcoming inner and external challenges.
He further explained that prayer is not only a personal obligation but also a sign of good governance, quoting a Quranic verse that links authority with the establishment of prayer. This, he stated, is crucial for the Iranian nation, particularly in times of struggle.
Ayatollah Khamenei called on all influential members of society, including families, educators, and cultural bodies, to foster the practice of prayer. He emphasized that this is essential for transitioning from an Islamic movement to a fully realized Islamic society and civilization.
He concluded with hope that through divine grace and the prayers of Imam Mahdi, the Iranian nation will succeed in establishing prayer and reaping its spiritual benefits.
