Iran Summons British Ambassador Over Allegations

Tehran:Iran's Foreign Ministry has called in the British ambassador in response to accusations from the British prime minister concerning Iran's involvement in an attack on the US Air Force base in Fairford.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's claims were labeled as baseless by Iran. Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, summoned Ambassador Hugo Shorter to express Iran's strong protest against the British government's approach.

During the meeting, Takht-Ravanchi highlighted the British government's international responsibility for unlawful actions against Iran, including the provision of military bases for US-Israeli military aggression. He emphasized that the recent media campaign by Britain, accusing Iran of a sabotage plot at the RAF Fairford base, should not obscure Britain's role in military actions against Iran.

The deputy foreign minister insisted that the British government must answer for its involvement in the aggression and war crimes committed by the United States and Israel. He dismissed the allegations as unfounded and demanded an official explanation and correction from Britain.

In response, the British ambassador stated he would relay Iran's protest to the authorities in London.
