Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian will participate in the 18th BRICS Summit scheduled for September 12-13 in India. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei announced the trip late on Tuesday, noting its significance. He emphasized the strategic value of multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei expressed hope that the trip will occur on Friday or Saturday. He pointed out the expansion of activities by both BRICS and the SCO in recent years across various economic and trade sectors. Baqaei stated that Iran should leverage these opportunities to conduct bilateral consultations with member states of the two blocs and articulate its positions.
