Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has strongly condemned the crimes of the Israeli regime against Lebanon and reiterated the US' responsibility for consequences of the regime's warmongering. In a message issued on Friday, Baqaei strongly slammed the aggressive and terrorist operations of Israel against various areas of Lebanon, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of Lebanese, as well as the destruction of people's homes and the country's infrastructure.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei also warned about the serious and immediate consequences of the continuation of the warmongering by the occupying and genocidal regime on the peace and security of the region. Referring to paragraph one of Iran-US MoU on the end of war which explicitly states that the cessation of war in Lebanon is an inseparable part of the agreement to end the war on all fronts, he stressed that Iran would take all necessary measures to protect its interests, security, and rights, as well as those of its allies.

The Israeli regime has launched extensive attacks on Lebanon since Friday morning against cities and villages in southern Lebanon, which have resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Lebanese civilians.
