Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has delivered a scathing rebuke to the White House press secretary for her anti-Iran rhetoric, saying the baseless accusations against the Islamic Republic expose the intensity of crimes committed by the United States itself.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei took to his X account on Saturday to address what he called "a lengthy list of accusations against Iran" by the White House spokesperson. He pointed out that many of these accusations seemed to mirror the actions historically initiated, perpetrated, or supported by the United States itself.

In his post, Baqaei criticized the American official's stance, describing it as a "flight from reality and act of projection." To underline his point, he quoted a proverb: 'The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,' suggesting that the accusations were a deflection from the US's own actions.

The response from Baqaei followed remarks made by Deputy White House Spokesperson Anna Kelly, who dismissed a report by the UN Human Rights Council regarding the US killing of Iranian civilians during the war. Kelly did not address US military actions in the West Asia region but instead accused Iran of killing Americans and conducting attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and against regional countries, without providing evidence.
