Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has denounced Canada for its subservient role in supporting US military aggression against Iran, suggesting Ottawa has been reduced to Washington's 'farm team.' According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei reacted to reports of Canada's covert support for the United States in its aggression against Iran, pointing to the contradiction in Washington's treatment of its northern neighbor.

In a post on X on Sunday evening, Baqaei highlighted several grievances, including Washington's dismissive designation of Canada as its 51st state, the imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods, and threats over wildfire smoke. He criticized Canada's passive acceptance of these actions, sarcastically summarizing Ottawa's stance as, 'Understood, Sir!'

Baqaei further accused Ottawa of taking part in the 'unlawful US war of choice' against Iran, suggesting that Canada's actions are driven by a desire to curry favor with Washington. He questioned the benefits of such an alliance, implying that Canada gains little from its compliance.

Concluding his remarks, Baqaei delivered a stinging metaphor, likening Canada's role to that of a minor league team in a sport, 'This is not hockey night in Canada; it is Washington's farm team.'
